BF3 PREMIUM

IT’S SUPER AWESOME STUFF THAT YOU JUST CAN’T HANDLE RIGHT NOW!!

BF3 Premium

As we all know Battlefield 3 now has a premium service that gives you access to all of the additional content Dice has created, including Server Queue priority (take that poor people!). Close Quarters is out (CQ for us Pros in the know) and everyone is blowing each other…up, having fun and inevitably waiting for the next DLC to be released. There is no doubt that this will be the cycle; a new DLC will be released, people will play it to death and then wait for the next one. read on…

Gaming Externally

Recently, Apple in particular has been aggressively pushing the newest connectivity interface standard, Thunderbolt (formerly known as Light Peak). Although it received little attention initially, interest and support has been slowly building for it in recent months. Excitement over the interface is greater than ever at this years CES where several clever new products that take advantage of the Thunderbolt interface were demonstrated. Now it is important to note that Intel, who developed the interface intends Thunderbolt to work alongside of the USB standard rather than replace it, USB has finally lived up to the first word in its name, “Universal”, and Intel seems to have neither the means nor the interest read on…

Battlefield 3 $950 System Build

Last week we presented a relatively inexpensive system build that would run BF3 quite well given that Wright and myself restricted ourselves to a 550$ budget. In this installment we will give you, the money bags gamer, a system that will not only play BF3 with ‘ease’ but keep you satisfied for years to come. For our high end build, we set the budget to a reasonable $950 give or take a twenty. Why $950? The answer is simple, after much thought, discussion, and a few hurt feelings (not really), we decided that exceeding our $950 budget was just plain unnecessary and borderline wasteful. For those of you interested in why this is so, Wright will be taking a more in depth look at the concept of future proofing and its flaws in an upcoming article but this is not the place for that explanation.
