Battlefield on a Heroic Scale

After playing a dozen or so games of conquest on the Battlefield 4 open beta, I thought it appropriate to share my thoughts. Aside from your expected beta errors, glitches, and crashes I am impressed. Admittedly, my expectations were a little more tempered than they were for Battlefield 3, but regardless, BF4 has largely delivered. Early on I knew the beta would likely be Siege of Shanghai. Based upon the early videos of the map I expected it to be another one of the poorly thought out tiny maps we have grown so accustomed to in BF3. Gaming Externally

Recently, Apple in particular has been aggressively pushing the newest connectivity interface standard, Thunderbolt (formerly known as Light Peak). Although it received little attention initially, interest and support has been slowly building for it in recent months. Excitement over the interface is greater than ever at this years CES where several clever new products that take advantage of the Thunderbolt interface were demonstrated. Fly Under the Radar

I recently had a conversation with one of our members about the Battlefield 3 perk “Below Radar” for attack jets. It was such an interesting conversation I felt it was worth a short piece. Although my knowledge of radar systems is limited, I thought it might be cool to share what I do know, demonstrate a real world example of how this perk actually works and look at what I believe are a few misconceptions about military aircraft radars and how they are portrayed in BF3.

 
The “Below Radar” perk for BF3 is an one of the cooler bonuses I have seen in any game lately. Its based on fact and allows for evasion of active missile threats for an expert pilot in an intuitively obvious way. The perk lets pilots evade air to air missiles by flying low to the ground.
